In 2003 The Darling Trust was established by Pieter-Dirk Uys,Patron of the organisation and actively involved in supporting and promoting the Trust nationally and internationally.
Since inception, The Darling Trust is committed to supporting the impoverished community of Darling and the surrounding areas by empowering individuals through projects in the areas of education, skills development, health care and community outreach. A consultative needs-based approach is followed with a special emphasis on the vulnerable youth.
The Darling Trust has thus embarked on various community development initiatives and projects to make a difference and assist in making the Dream of a Better Life a Reality for All.
We invite individuals, organisations and governments to use the opportunity to partner with The Darling Trust should they wish to support and fund charitable causes and projects within the Western Cape, nurturing communities and their youth for generations come
Evita's Angels
Evita’s Angels First 1000 Days Project
Evita’s Angels First 1000 Days Project is designed and facilitated by Wilmie van der Wal . Wilmie relocated to Yzerfontein in August 2021 from Abu Dhabi where she worked at an American Liberal Arts University in Student Affairs.
She has her Masters in Psychology and is an expert in co-curriculum programming. After working in the Higher Education sector for more than 8 years, Wilmie followed her passion and upon successfully completing her Life Coach Certification founded Lemonlilly Consultants in September 2021.
On the 9th of July 2022, The Darling Trust and Lemonlilly Consultants had the privilege of launching the Evita’s Angels First 1000 Days Project.
Grade R Education Centre
Fabriek Street, in rural Darling – since 2010
In order to address the lack of pre-school infrastructure and facilities The Darling Trust embarked on a project in 2008 for the construction of an Early Childhood Development Centre and local swimming pool. The centre is located at the entrance to New Town and the ASLA residential area in Darling North, next to the Darling Clinic. The land was made available by the Swartland Municipality who manage and maintain the swimming pool.
